Xperi
Developing a scalable digital platform for a global technology company.
/ 01 Overview
Xperi’s brands reach cars, TVs, and streaming platforms worldwide, and its website had to speak to everyone involved. With the 5ivecanons team, I helped build the redesigned site as a flexible WordPress platform: responsive, reusable components that can carry a large content library, many audiences, and rich media as the business changes.
/ My Role
Theme: Custom WordPress theme and page templates
Components: Reusable modules for a large corporate site
Navigation: Mega menu on desktop, stacked menu on mobile
Media: Video, imagery, and graphical parallax
Testing: Desktop, tablet, and mobile
/ 02 The Challenge
One site, many jobs. It had to organize a lot of content, serve very different visitors, and stay fast and consistent while the team kept adding to it.
/ What Had to Work
Scale
A large, growing library of brand, product, news, investor, and careers content.
Audiences
Clear paths for visitors who arrive with very different goals.
Rich media
Video, imagery, text, and graphics working together without hurting performance.
Global reach
Multilingual content and the approved regional privacy requirements.
Control
Administrators able to manage a complex system without breaking the design.
/ 03 Many Audiences, Clear Paths
Seven kinds of visitors, each with an obvious place to start.
The main navigation doubles as a set of entry points, so each group reaches its content without wading through everyone else’s.

/ 04 Mega Menu
A whole company, one level deep. I built the approved mega menu so each top-level item opens a visual panel of destinations, and collapses into a simple stacked menu on phones.
/ Built For
- Destinations grouped under clear top-level labels
- Image cards with a call to action for each brand
- Hover on desktop, tap on touch screens
- A stacked, expandable menu on mobile
- A language switcher inside the navigation
Open a menu item to see its panel. Works with a mouse, touch, or keyboard (Escape closes).

- DTSImmersive audio and imaging
- HD RadioSubscription-free digital radio
- IMAX EnhancedIMAX picture with DTS sound
- TiVoVideo experiences for the home

/ 05 Custom WordPress Development
A system of parts, not a pile of pages. I built the templates as reusable sections, so a careers page, a brand page, and a news hub all draw from the same consistent set of components.
/ What I Built
Theme & templates
A custom theme with templates for home, careers, locations, news, and brand pages.
Responsive UI
Approved designs turned into components that adapt from desktop to phone.
Media & motion
Carousels, video, and graphical parallax built into the components.
Cross-device
Tested on desktop, tablet, and mobile.
/ 06 Modular Content
Administrators add sections, not code. A shared library of modules keeps new pages on-brand as the site grows.
- Hero banners
- Text and image splits
- Featured stories
- News carousels
- Testimonial slider
- Icon link grids
- Partner logo carousel
- Locations map and table
- Brand logo strip
- Calls to action
/ 07 Six Languages
The same site, read around the world. Human-translated content runs through the same templates, so layout and navigation stay consistent in every language.
- A language switcher in the main navigation
- Layouts that hold up with longer or denser scripts
- Menus and components shared across every language
/ Supported
- EnglishEnglish
- 简体中文Chinese (Simplified)
- 繁體中文Chinese (Traditional)
- 日本語Japanese
- 한국어Korean
- EspañolSpanish
/ 08 Privacy & Consent
Consent that looks like the rest of the site. The website supported regional privacy and consent requirements; my work integrated the approved consent experience and privacy pages into the design system.
- Cookie preferences grouped by category
- A long privacy policy organized as an accordion
- Controls that stay usable on small screens
/ 09 Responsive Experience
A corporate platform that fits in a pocket. The mega menu becomes an expandable list, carousels become single cards, and every section keeps its order and meaning.
/ On Small Screens
- Full-screen mobile menu with expandable groups
- One-card carousels with touch-friendly controls
- Diamond link grids reflowed for narrow widths
- Readable long-form news and policy pages
- Footer navigation stacked into clear groups

/ 11 Outcome
A modern corporate platform with room to grow.
- A modern platform for a global technology company
- Clearer paths for several audience groups
- A scalable structure for a large content library
- Reusable WordPress components
- Flexible content management
- Responsive presentation across devices
- Support for six languages
- Approved privacy controls integrated into the design
- A maintainable foundation for future updates
/ 12 Reflection
Xperi.com had to hold a lot of content, speak to many audiences, and keep changing without losing its consistency. Building it from reusable WordPress components turned the approved design into a platform that scales, while keeping everyday editing practical for the team that runs it.
